twenty-six.design is an independent design, editorial, and research studio led by Jarrett Fuller. Our work takes shape across a variety of media, from books and websites to podcasts and installations and we work with clients large and small, around the world.
In addition to client work, we also produce experimental work, research projects, and original content, including Scratching the Surface, a weekly design criticism podcast; readings.design, an online archive of canonical graphic design texts; and other books and speculative projects.
Face: A Visual Odyssey
Jessica Helfand's 2019 book, Face: A Visual Odyssey is a highly illustrative look at the face, both in historically and in contemporary, that asks what it means to be photographed, how are we identified and what does it mean to be human? Working closely with Jessica, twenty-six developed a visual framework to house Jessica's text and the hundreds of images included in the book. We designing a dense yet refined book that is both visually engaging and intellectually stimulating.

This highly illustrative book needed a highly visual table of contents. Each chapter opens with a full bleed image which is previewed in a grid of thumbnails at the beginning of the book.
